Lake-Sumter State College serves over 7,500 students annually in Lake and Sumter counties in central Florida. We invite candidates to apply for our Financial Aid Counselor position. This position provides Financial Aid counseling services to all students and parents. The Counselor will also be responsible for the management of student financial literacy, default management, as well as assist with Verification, Pell and Direct Loan Reject. In addition, the Counselor is also responsible for processing community and institutional scholarships. The Financial Aid Counselor will alternate between our Leesburg and South Lake campuses. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core value of Service Excellence; respect, competence, responsiveness, and collaboration, in all interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: B.A. or B.S. degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Required: Minimum of two years of financial aid student experience or three years of relevant financial aid experience. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in COD, NSLDS, and FAA Access. Preferred: Two years of Banner/Ellucian experience.
