Region 4 - West Central Florida

Greetings Region IV!


I can’t believe it’s been a year since I made my introductions to you all as your representative.  A lot has happened in this past year.  If you had a chance to attend the annual conference in May/June you celebrated with us as FASFAA turned 50.  I wanted to thank each and every one of you that contributed to the local charity – Bridges of Light - school supply drive, bought raffle tickets and made cash donations.  All your efforts did not go unnoticed; we get to keep the trophy!  This has put a bullseye on Region IV, but I know we have the best FAA’s in this region so let’s continue this great tradition.

For Region IV and FASFAA to be successful members need to participate, let’s all get involved, it is so rewarding!  You can volunteer by completing the volunteer request on the FASFAA website.  This is also a great group for best practices or questions. 

All FASFAA related information will be sent to the region’s listserv, please contact me if you don’t know how to sign up for the listserv.  I have also listed my contact information below.   Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have comments or suggestions.

The announcement you have all been waiting for!


The Fall Region Workshop will be held on Friday November 17th at National Aviation Academy - Tampa, 6225 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater, FL 33760.  Lunch will be provided.  I am currently finalizing the agenda (now posted below) and will have one available shortly.

New Aid Officer Workshop:

FASFAA is conducting the NAOW in Safety Harbor, FL (near Tampa Bay) from October 24th to the 26th. This opportunity is for your staff who either are new to the financial aid profession, or could use additional NASFAA credentialing. Trainers include experienced professionals such as current Directors and Associate Directors who are certified to provide NASFAA credential training.

Clock Hour Workshop:

This year’s Clock Hour Workshop will be October 25th to October 27th, also in Safety Harbor, FL. Our favorite Fed, David Bartnicki will be there to do sessions on topics such as Year-Round Pell, Prior Prior Year and the Federal Updates. The workshop also includes a session on Student Engagement and the Forever GI Bill.
