1. Reviews new federal and state regulations and assists in assessing regulatory compliance within the college.

4. Researches federal policy materials and makes decisions about unusual circumstances encountered by financial aid staff.

6. Answers questions and provides individual assistance to Financial Aid staff.

7. Provides assistance to Atlas technical support staff on use of Atlas Financial Aid Tools and web presentations of financial aid information.

Qualifications
Required Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Required Field of Study
Other Required Qualifications
3 years financial aid management experience.

Required License/Certification
Preferred Education & Field of Study
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Preferred Type of Experience
Experience with highly automated financial aid systems.
SCT Banner experience.

Preferred Licenses/Certification
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to make high quality, professional presentations to large audiences.

Ability to deliver classroom and hands-on instruction using learning-centered instructional methods.

Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing and to maintain a high level of professionalism when communicating issues of a sensitive or confidential nature.

Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.

In-depth knowledge of financial aid regulations policies and processing methods.

Understanding of legislative and administrative rule-making processes.

General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.

Job specific working conditions
Must be able to travel locally on a flexible schedule, as needed. Must have reliable transportation, and proof of liability and property damage insurance on the vehicle used may be required.
