SUMMARY: Interviews prospective students (via the open interview) and works with each enrolled students to ensure that every student receives the best financial aid award package possible (via the Packaging Interview).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provides prospective students/parents guidance and financial aid information.
2. Determines eligibility for federal financial aid and packages students for financial aid according to guidelines and policies established and enforced by the Corporate Office and the U.S. Department of Education.
3. Checks NSLDS (National Student Loan Data System) to determine students who previously attended college.
4. Enters financial aid awards for students FAFSA’s (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) in FAME during the packaging process and marks the FAFSA ready for transmission.
5. Performs daily data entry of all students that have been packaged.
6. Performs alternative financing maintenance and tracking in Freedom.
7. Processes and certifies loan applications within one week of ISIR (Institutional Student Informational Record) receipt.
8. Processes Stafford loan promissory notes and secures students signatures within one week of receipt.
9. Evaluates student eligibility and identifies special circumstances that may warrant professional judgment consideration and notifies the Financial Aid Director of all potential professional judgment candidates. All professional judgment requests are to be reviewed by the Financial Aid Director for final approval.
10. Confirms financial aid appointments daily, when requested by the School’s Financial Aid Director.
11. Maintains financial aid files for future students to ensure all required forms are in the file.
12. Collects missing documents to complete the student financial aid file.
13. Updates the document tracker daily as missing documents are received from students to ensure the integrity of the Freedom document tracker data.
14. Sends written notices to students that were selected for verification or have a “C” code on their Institution Student Information Record (ISIR), within one week of receiving the ISIR, to notify the student what additional documents are needed.
15. Prepares ISIR verification packs as needed by your Director.
16. Ensures that completed start files are forwarded to the Financial Aid Director on the fifth day after each class start.
17. Assist students with financial aid concerns and payment plan solutions/resolutions.
18. Signs change of status, clinical and graduation clearance forms.
19. Coordinates and completes exit counseling for all students, enters exit counseling dates and ensures accurate reference data has been entered in Freedom.
20. Processes a Lender Notice within 30 days from the students last date of attendance for all graduated dropped students.
21. Communicates with other schools, lenders/guarantors, and the Corporate Office as needed to ensure proper delivery of Federal aid to students.
22. Prepares and forwards lender/guarantors requests for assistance to the Default Management group at the Corporate Office immediately upon receipt.
23. Files all financial aid correspondence every week.
24. Assists the Financial Aid Director and the Corporate Office in completing file reviews for audits.
25. Assists the Financial Aid Director as needed with other job-related tasks.
26. Completes other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, the Corporate Office or the School’s Financial Aid Director.

Minimum Skills and Abilities:

• Associate degree or minimum 1 years financial related experience.
• Knowledge Microsoft Office, CampusVue and experience in data entry
• Consistently perform under pressure to meet timelines and objectives.
• Ability to provide superior leadership and work cooperatively in diverse group(s).
• Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in detailed data analysis
• Ability to promptly identify and resolve problems.
