Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.
Preferences: The preferred candidate will have strong recent financial aid experience.
The preferred candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills to perform daily interaction with students, parents, high schools, other university departments, and the Florida Department of Education.
Job Description: As a Coordinator this position is responsible for the coordination, management, supervision and implementation of the Federal aggregate loans limit review process to establish eligibility and avoid over-payments of federal funds.
Monitors and resolves all validation errors for the federal loan origination process.
Coordinator will interact with federal and state agencies, federal loan servicer and post-secondary institutions to facilitate the resolution of student’s status and eligibility. This position will be part of a team that is responsible for assisting in monitoring and maintaining a multi-million dollar aid program.
Specific Tasks: Supervises staff involved in the assistance of Federal aggregate loan limit review process and management of Federal Direct PLUS loans.
Manages and reviews students federal loan aggregate limits data to determine students’ loan eligibility status.
Coordinates the development of reports and queries needed to identify and calculate maximum and remaining loan eligibility limits.
Run queries to identify and resolve all validation errors for the federal loan origination process.
Provides informed counseling to students and parents in regards to financial aid process, including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs.
Evaluates questions and escalated incidents from student correspondence, phone bank, front desk, emails, and other contacts to resolve loan issues and concerns.
Monitors and reviews the unofficial cohort default report from NSLDS in order to submit corrections to U.S. Department of Education.
Develops training materials to assist in the staff training of aggregate limit processes.
Develops procedures for aggregate loan limit and federal Plus loan processes
Assists in presentation of financial aid information to groups of students, parents, high school counselors, and/or the general public in workshop or training sessions.
Attends professional workshops, meetings, and training sessions to assure adequate professional development and keep abreast of current rules and regulations.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Location: UCF Main Campus Orlando, Florida
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends required.
