UCF Financial Aid Specialist, OPS Temporary
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
Preferences: Prefer candidates with prior customer service experience and/or comprehensive understanding of financial aid.
Job Description: Responsible for the dissemination of information for Student Financial Assistance with primary emphasis on telephone counseling.
Advises and counsels students and parents regarding the financial aid process.
Analyzes and evaluates students’ financial needs.
Advises on availability and sources of financial assistance including Pell Grant, Campus-based aid, Stafford loan, scholarships, and other programs. Interprets to students the policies, the processes, and the regulations pertaining to financial aid and all aid programs.
Counseling occurs by telephone.
Some evening hours may be required.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Location: UCF Main Campus Orlando, Florida
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional evenings and weekends required.
This is an OPS temporary position from mid-July to mid- September. Pay rate is $12.00/hour. We anticipate hiring up to six people.
