Keiser University – Melbourne, a regionally accredited university, is looking for a Financial Aid Officer. The Financial Aid Officer assists with the administration of financial aid programs by advising students regarding financial aid eligibility, and ensures they are properly funded. They also coordinate with admissions and academics to keep the students engaged and on-track.
General Duties:
· Work with students and parents to explain and help them towards understanding the financial aid process and completing FA forms.
· Administer Title IV funding in compliance with federal regulations
· Ensure federal & state guidelines/policies for student enrollment and financial aid eligibility are met
· Counsel students to determine financial aid needs/options
· Review student files to ensure accurate funding
· Track and report students progress through the packaging process
· Answer financial aid questions with students and/or parents
· Conduct "Entrance/Exit" Loan counseling with students
· Assist in review of Satisfactory Student Academic Progress for repackaging
· Additional duties and tasks as directed by the Director of Financial Aid, the Campus President or member of the Office of the Chancellor
Job Requirements:
· Associate degree required/Bachelors degree preferred
· 2 years experience as a Financial Aid officer/representative preferred
· Knowledge of Federal & State Grant / loan programs
· Experience with Return to Title IV calculations
· Hands on knowledge of crossover funding issues
· Great customer service skills and ability to interact with all levels of individuals
· Ability to work flexible hours including nights and some weekends
· Computer skills including MicroSoft Office Suite
· Ability to Multi-Task
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Detail oriented & Problem solver
· Knowledge of CampusVue system is a plus
· Accounting and customer service background helpful
